Akira Aoi (蒼井 晶 Aoi Akira) is a high school model who serves as one of the antagonists in the Wixoss franchise and retained that role as a major antagonist in Stand Up, the LRIG! with an alteration to her win-loss Selector Battle ratio prior to the events of the fic. Her role as an antagonist is dropped (later becoming a supporting character) during her rematch with Toshiki Kai when the latter saves her from being forced to cheat by Urith. After confronting her past self with the help of Chrono Dran and evolving Dragonic Dark Overlord into Dragonic Comet, her role in the Vanguard Side of Arc 4 comes to an end when she travels to the Vanguard Battle Cruise to get back to Japan and investigate the event for the presence of Ryuzu Myojin as a favor for both Dran and Rive Shindou. A spinoff fic chronicling those events will release under the name Stand Up, the LRIG! Chronicles: Blazing Lustre with her as the main protagonist of that fic.

Akira originally seemed sweet and bubbly to those unaware of her true behaviour at the tune, particular unsuspecting Selectors she may encounter, Much like in actual canon at the time, she also had a cruel and sadistic personality that drove her towards achieving her goals, by any means necessary (later revealed to be a misguided belief that she thought that was what others did to reach the top anyway). She also commonly said the phrase "Aki-lucky!" and other variations when discovering that she could cause misfortune for others. Even now, she has also been known to have a foul mouth and a temper to back it up. This was more prominent when things didn't go in her favour, even going as far as holding resentment against people who have defeated her in Selector Battles or Cardfights with Kai being the most prominent due to her loss to him by a misplay in their first encounter.
After nearly succumbing to the exerted pressure from Dragonic Dark Overlord's power in her fight with Miwa, she drastically changed her personality to put herself on equal footing with Kai. Secretly it was because she was trying to mimic his mannerisms to get an idea of how he's been able to stay one step ahead of her, eventually resulting in her realizing Kai was not the same arrogant person she assumed Iona or other people in her life to be like, resulting in her somewhat developing a newfound sense of honour where she desired to defeat him on fair and even terms. As such, she held disdain at Remember for cheating against Kiyoi and forcefully shuffled her deck to rectify the situation. When she was fighting Kai, she even respected him for being as strong as he was, though she was still unaware of Urith's true intentions for her until it was almost too late when she tried to force her to perform an illegal Limit Override with Dragonic Dark Overlord. After Kai saves her from this and the pressure becomes too much for her body to handle, she tries to go out in a blaze of glory with Dark Overlord's "Eternal Violet Life Inferno". When it fails and she finds herself barely conscious, she ultimately breaks the Mark of Penalty that bound her to Mayu out of modesty for his earlier actions.
After being recovered from the Kyzylkum Desert by Rive Shindou and Chrono Dran, she at first refused to cooperate when they attempted to separate her from Dragonic Dark Overlord's card which was still poisoning her, stating it was the only thing she had left to get back to Kai and this is the price she's willing to deal with. When Rive defeated her and Dran suppressed the harmful aura of the card, she gave the story of her life to the pair, even admitting to the underhanded things she did and revealing that she came to understand Kai was not the person she assumed him and everyone else above her to be, albeit too little too late to make a difference out, even when she found out Urith planned to dispose of her from the beginning. All of those misguided deeds came back to haunt her briefly when she and Dran ventured into her subconscious, eventually causing her to realize she didn't have to be like Iona, Kai or any of the people she resented throughout her life and vowing to forge her own path without being held back by her past misdeeds or attitude. This all comes to a head when her Dragonic Dark Overlord becomes Dragonic Comet when fighting Fumio and her starting her new path forwards (despite agreeing to assist with investigating the Battle Cruise for Ryuzu Myojin's presence), to the point Rive abided her request to cut most of her hair to make that point clear.
